This is for Meg_Rob!!!
Robert’s Point Of View.“What’s that? I asked pointing to a stack of envelopes scattered on the hotel table next to the door. Aubrey looked up from the shirt she instied on ironing for me, a long inky black curl falling in her face. Blowing it back from her face she looked at what I was pointing to before shaking her head.
“Fan letters that were attached to the door, car, stuck under the door.” she shook her head again before picking up my shirt and tossing it to me. “There you go pumpkin. Anything else?” She stood nervously jiggling her hand at her side. She was shaking slightly from head to toe, though I wanted to remain professional, I wanted to reach out and hug her or find some encouraging words.
“Um….Aubrey, go to the airport, your father needs you.” she turned her head before touching the black elastic bracelets on her wrist that Kristen had given her, chewing on her bottom lip her eyelashes blinked rapidly. If my father had altimizer I wouldn’t be able to deal with it as well as Aubery was, her mother called to let her know his health was deteriating.
She wiped her eye with the back of her hand, “He doesn’t even remember me, it’s so hard to see him like that.”
“Aubrey, if he gets worse you will regret not seeing him.” I told her.
“I know.” she got silent before a grin spread over her face, “Will you be okay with out me, Boss.” She teased.
I cringed slightly at the word, “I’ll be fine, my shirts will be wrinkled but I think I can manage.”
“Well I set your alarm clock so that it can wake you up an hour before your suppose to be on set. Robert for the life of me be on time, or Nick will kill me!” she exclaimed.
Throwing up my hands I agreed, “Okay.”
Silence balnkted us before she started toward the door, “Thanks for being a friend Rob seriously.” she came toward me with open arms and hugged me.
“Your welcome.” my cheeks flushed red as we pulled apart.
“Also tell Drew thank you for the flowers to my mother that was so sweet.” she put her hand on the door knob before turning around again, “Don’t forget to call her, your already on thin ice.”
I rolled my eyes, when wasn’t I on thin ice with Drew lately. She used to be completely understanding but now she’s been picking fight’s over any little thing I did or didn’t do.
“You want me to just throw this away?” she asked me, the stack of envelpes in her hand.
“No. I like reading fan mail gives me something to do.” I took them off her hands and looked through the many names and address until I came upon one that had nothing on the front at all.
“Okay. I’m gone. See you in a month.” she drawled slowly.
“Don’t get in to any trouble.” I held the door as she walked out.
“Same goes for you boss!” she yelled walking backwards toward the hotel elevator. I waited till she disappeared before closing the door behind me. Placing the rest of the envelopes down on the table I flipped over the blank one, undoing a seal. Pulling out pictures I flipped through each of them with disbelief. Disbelief then switched to anger, before fury blurred my vision.
There was Drew, kissing, cuddling, intimate with some one who wasn’t me.
