sassy spacey's Pick: Committed to Apathy by MySweetMelody
Reason: I don't want to give too much away but this is a must read. I've loved MySweetMelody's work since reading "A Crooked Kind of Perfect". She just has a knack for telling a great story!
This story follows 2 people struggling through past mistakes and trying to make their present work through those mistakes.
Just check it out, it's worth it.
Swoozy's Pick: In My Mother's Arms by Hfrankz
Reason: Ok...so I'm going to admit that I can't remember if I rec'd this story before or not. If I did, it deserves another look and I've lost my memory. If I didn't....here ya go!!
I love this fic because it sheds light on a serious and often over looked genetic illness. I've known people who lost family to this disease. I've had a friend suffer and die from the same variation as the Edward in this story. The realism of living under this cloud is astonishing.
Hfrankz has shown us what living with Cystic Fibrosis is like in such cutting detail that I know she's either done amazing research or knows someone who suffers. You can't help but feel for the characters as they ride this unfathomable ride and as they're relationship grows against undeniable odds.
I'm holding out for a happy ending but right now, it is in jeopardy.
Give it a read...you won't be sorry you did.
RainerNight's Pick: Upside Down by yummydirtybrit
Reason: So I was snooping around here for something to read and happened along this little treasure. Next thing you know it's 3am and I'm crying on my keyboard. Jax has once again outdone herself delivering a beautifully orchestrated piece of writing. Although it has it's roller coaster emotions it's a nice read that will leave you wanting more from these two characters.
The highlight for me was hating Rob. That's right, it's hard to make you hate him, but the Rob portrayed in this from the beginning makes you want to slap, punch and fuck him all at the same time. Which is no small feat.
