1. How did you get into fan fiction? Why Robert Pattinson fan fiction?

It all started when I finished reading the Twilight series. Once I’d completed Breaking Dawn, I was left wanting more. When someone told me there were continuation stories written by fans on the internet, I decided to have a look. I instantly became hooked. Reading these continuation stories, I stumbled upon some AU/Human stories that caught my attention and moved on from there. Then I discovered my first real person Rob fic (Taking Chances) and my interest in Edward fics took a back seat to reading about the real thing. I’d become captivated by Rob’s charm and personality through watching interviews and some of his other films. So when I started noticing how well some of these fictions captivated his real life qualities, I was drawn in.

2. What made you decide to start writing fan fiction?

After a couple of months of reading other people’s Rob fics, I started coming up with my own ideas for a story where a fictional version of myself met and had a relationship with a fictional Robert. Basically, I fantasized about Rpattz and wrote it down. I added a bit of drama, a couple of curve balls and before I knew it, I had my first story.

Anyways, with a little encouragement from some fellow writers (Roblove & London), I went ahead and posted what I had. I was blown away by the overwhelming and unexpected response I got from my readers. The addiction grew from there and I have not stopped writing since.

3. What is your writing process? Do you have a specific place you like to write, music you listen to, etc.?

I usually write whenever I can. Since I am a stay at home mom and nanny, I often wait until the kids are napping or in bed for the night before sitting down at my computer with a beverage containing caffeine and my trusty twelve months of Rob calendar for inspiration. With a lot of quiet in the house and little help from my itunes, I buckle down and let loose on my keyboard.

Lately, I’ve found myself making individual playlists for my stories. Each one contains songs that relate to or inspire my characters and often help me get into the right frame of mind when writing more than one story at a time.

4. How much research goes into the stories? Time spent on the internet? Personal experience?

I have added quite a bit of personal experience to each one of my stories because those are always the easiest to write. When I am writing about things I have not experienced, such as medical conditions, an accident or travels to a country I’ve never been, I will spend a fair amount of time researching these things online. I also spend a little time here and there looking up and confirming timelines and events that have taken place in Rob’s real life such as premieres, filming and promotional travel.

5. What is the hardest/easiest part about writing?

I would say the hardest for me is flow. I have all of these ideas and scenes played out in my head and often find myself choking up when putting them into writing. I hate when the flow of a story is choppy and try my best to avoid it. Unfortunately, no matter how hard I try it still happens. It is something I am aware of and working on. I know that I still have a long way to go as a writer, but I enjoy it far too much to stop. I just figure that if I continue to work on it, I will eventually get it down.

The easy part of writing for me would have to be my overabundance of ideas. Since I have started writing, they have not stopped. I am literally coming up with an idea for a new story every other week. I almost wish I had more time so that I could get them all out. As a matter of fact, I just started writing them down so that I can use them later down the line.

6. Out of the stories you've written which is your favorite? Favorite character? Why?

I would have to say that even though it is not some of my best writing Reality Check is my absolute favorite. And not because the lead characters name is Jax, but more because of the humor and real life situations my characters find themselves in. I am not usually one to laugh at my own jokes but with this story, I often found myself cracking up until my stomach hurt as I wrote. It’s the mix of humor; romance and angst that made this story my absolute favorite to write.

My favorite character is definitely Myra from The Bet. I love Myra because she comes off as so quirky and unassuming, and then turns out to be a confident little seductress behind closed doors. She is an honest character that doesn’t care what other people think. She goes through life doing what makes her happy and rocks a pair of stripped tube sox while doing it. Her qualities and quirkiness might come off as strange to some, but to Rob, they are the reason he is attracted to her in the first place. For me, Myra shows that being different, being yourself, is what will set you apart from everyone else.

I know, I totally sound like an after school special right now :tehee:

7. What do you think makes a good story?

A talent for writing, good flow, solid story line, believable dialogue and a lot of drama to keep the reader interested. If it has all of these things, plus a bit of smut, I am totally there.

8. Is there any story (or book) you wish you could have written? Why?

The Twific (MOTU) Master of the Universe by: Snowqueens Icedragon is, for me hands down the best fanfic I have ever read. Her writing is spectacular and the story line is totally addictive. Her Edward Cullen (fifty shades) is by far the sexiest, most charismatic character I have ever read. I think I may just like him more than the original. I wish I had half the imagination or talent to write a story as amazing as MOTU.

9. Do you have any writing tips?

That would be to take a chance, whether you are a new writer taking a chance on writing your first story or an established writer taking a chance on something a little out of your comfort zone. Worry less about what other people will think and focus on what makes you happy. Even if you are not the best writer, if it brings you joy, then go for it. Also, something I am struggling with myself is to never compare yourself to other writers. Everyone has their own writing style and no two stories are ever the same. No matter how good you are or become, there will always be someone out there that you feel is better. Just because there is a better written story out there, it doesn’t make yours any less enjoyable.

Say for example: In the music industry. There are the well loved legends such as The Beatles and Michael Jackson. And then there are your newer, less experienced but talented acts such as Kings of Leon and Usher. Now just because you enjoy the Icons, doesn’t mean you don’t have a little room in your life for something lighter. I mean come on, everyone needs a little Sex on Fire and OMG in their life. Am I right?

10. Who's your pick to be the next author interviewed? (This person will actually be it.)

My pick for next interview would have to be Smateo. Her writing is so spectacular and her stories so very addicting. She has been writing on the site for awhile now and has consistently belted out one good story after another. I would love to hear from her, how exactly she keeps it up.

From readers:

1. What story was the most challenging to write? Which was the easiest? – Stacey

The most Challenging was definitely The Long Goodbye. The death of a child is something none of us would ever want to experience and writing about it was painful as well. Even amidst the sweet flashbacks and evolving romance, I often found myself down and out for an entire day after writing an update. It took me awhile to get out of the mind frame needed to write such sad subject.

My easiest would probably be Ball Gags and Boogle Eyes. I think a big part of that was because it was based on an event that was taking place around the time I wrote it, Rob’s road trip. With a little bit if real life inspiration and a whole lot of fictional smut, I belted this one out in only a matter of three days.

2. Would you ever let your friends in RL see your Rob fiction? – Hannah

I have actually. My closest friends, some I’ve actually written into my stories, have read some of my stuff. And even though they are not Rob fans themselves, they have all told me that they became hooked, often coming back to the website to check for my updates. At first I was a little embarrassed, because anyone who has read my stories knows I love to write smut. But once I realized they enjoyed reading it as much as I loved writing it, I felt more comfortable.

3. Does any of your friends or family know that you write "Rob-fiction"? If so, how do they feel about it? - Lacie

My closest girlfriends know and read my stuff. They absolutely love it. They encourage me to write more. Now my husband, he is a different story. While he knows I write Fiction about Rob, he refuses to read it. He says as long as he doesn’t have to see it, he doesn’t care. I don’t argue. I’m not really sure how comfortable I would be with my husband reading some of my stories anyways. Especially the one’s containing smut between Rob and a certain character named Jax.

4. Other than when you are writing, looking at pictures of Rob, or in front of a computer, do you ever think about Rob? Or is it just when you're on the net? – Lacie

Of course! Seeing that I am always thinking up story content up in my head, I have Rob on the brain a lot more then I should. I think it could quiet possibly be unhealthy how much I think of Rob. At least my husband thinks so.

5. You are known for some epic love/smut scenes. They are so detailed and seem so real. Do you have to think about it for a little bit before you can write it or does it just flow out of you, no thinking... – Stacey

I usually have an idea of how the scene will work up to smut, but once it gets there, it’s all free flow. I picture it in my mind as I write. It’s a hard job, but hey, someone has to get it done.

6. Would you ever attempt a story that didn't have Rob in it? – Stacey

I’ve actually have thought about that a lot lately and I think my answer would have to be yes. I would just like to wait until my writing is a little more up to par before I try it out.

7. Do you picture yourself as 'Jax' in your stories with the MC baring your name? – Stacey

In Unexpected Turn of Events I did, yet with Reality Check I didn’t. I’m not totally sure why. For some reason I picture the Jax in Reality Check with my hair color and frame, but I see her face different. I think it could possibly be because I made a banner with a female character and after that, her face was all I saw. Since my banner with Unexpected Turn of Events was faceless, it helped me keep myself as the visual.

8. Name three things on Rob that you would change and three things you would keep the same.
– Stacey

Being the perfect fan that I am, I wouldn’t change a thing! *snickers* Hey it sounded good right?

As far as changes, it’s hard for me to say because I don’t personally know the man. From what I have read and seen in interviews I would have to say his timidness. He comes off as so charming and funny in real life. I just wish he could see it more and be a little more comfortable in his skin.

Second would be his occasional excessive facial hair. While I love Rob’s scruff and a light beard here or there, it is hard to watch him walk around with a dead rodent covering his beautiful face. Don’t shave it all Rob, just keep it under control.

Now for third *Taps chin* I can’t really come up with a third thing. Unless that whole not showering thing is true, I like everything else about the man.

Onto three the things I would never change.

Easy! His sense of humor, his quirky facial expressions, his accent, his wardrobe and his complete physical appearance. I know that’s more than three, but I just can’t help myself. The man has so many wonderful qualities; It’s too hard to narrow them down.

9. What would you have said to Tom if you had caught him on that London street back in May?
- Stacey

I would have said “Hi my name is Jackie, would you like to exchange numbers? I’ll give you my friend Stacey’s and you can give me your friend Rob’s. It’s a win win situation for everyone.”

No in all honesty, I probably would have tapped him on the shoulder and froze up. What am I talking about, I actually did freeze up. Besides screaming in my friend and the cabbie’s ear “Oh my god that’s Tom,” I couldn’t move.

10. How do you stay so prolific? How do you get your ideas for new stories? – Stacey

They come from all over the place. A book I read, a movie I saw, a life experience, a friend’s life experience or sometimes just out of nowhere. I often get an idea or foundation from something I have lived, seen or read and build it into something that’s all my own.

11. What first inspired you to write about Rob in UToE? – Stacey

Probably the first Rob fic I ever read and my trip to London. In the story I am referring to a regular girl meets an unattainable boy while living in London. Girl and boy have an affair, boy pushes girl away, girl is heartbroken and so on. This got me to thinking about my upcoming trip and what it would be like if my fictional self were to run into him. The fantasy continued in my brain and I decided to write it down. Before I knew it, Turn of Unexpected Events was a full fledged story.

12. Each of your stories have blown me away! Seriously! What is it in other author's stories that catch your attention and interest, to make you want to keep reading? – crazyaboutcullen

Solid characters, smooth flow and entertaining storylines. Whether it be romance, comedy, smut or angst. If I like the way Rob is being portrayed, the story is consistent and the lead female character is likeable I am in.

13. What is the most important thing you have learned about writing that you would like to share with the other writers here? - m244robp

If it makes you happy, just do it. Don’t write for the compliments and reviews. There will be times where you may feel like no one is reading, but that isn’t always the case. Just because people do not comment, doesn’t mean they arn’t reading. This is another thing I still struggle with. I’m just hoping that if I say it enough I will convince others as well as myself that feedback is not what it’s all about. It’s about creativity and the freedom to let your imagination run free. If you have an idea for a story, don’t worry about how it will be perceived, just take it and run with it.

14. How would you react if you actually had a chance to meet Rob? (this is a Rob-related site, right?) - m244robp

Oh man, that is a tough one. Though I write myself as unaffected and confident, I would probably just stand there and drool like an idiot. I guess I will never really know until it happens. So Robert, if you’re reading this, Call me. I’d like to be able to answer this question with a little bit of personal experience.

15. What made you like Robert? Do you write Robert different then everyone else? and what is your favorite Robert story that you didn’t write?
- queens_of_pattinson

First question: Robert made me like Robert with his looks, his personality and his talent. All of it! The boy is just charismatic and the fact that he doesn’t know it makes him all the more adorable.

Second: I think I write Robert different than others. At least I hope I do. It’s hard to say because my fictional Rob differs in each one of my stories. For instance, Reality Check Rob is your typical everyday kind of man with a fear of commitment clouding and underlying need to be loved. Then you have Upside Down Rob who starts out like a nasty, cold hearted man whore and ends up being a loving, caring family man. There are so many options when writing a fictional character. So many ways we can write Robert. I mean the possibilities are endless.

Third: My fave Rob story that I didn’t write would actually have to be a tie between London Rain by: Duders79 and Off the Grid by: Swoozy. Both of them are exceptionally written and to me, portray Rob very realistically. I can actually picture him clearly as I read these stories. And for me, that’s a big accomplishment in itself.
